Local painter Peter Perunov is showing oil and acrylic views of the Old World and the New in an exhibition at The Art Gallery Osoyoos (TAGO) which launches on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The show is titled Memories and it runs until Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.
Perunov was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1955. At the time, Minsk was in the Soviet Union. He worked in construction engineering throughout his career. In high school during the 1970s he began painting. Most of his work is oils, but he does some acrylics.
He immigrated to Canada in 1997 with his wife and son and they settled in Edmonton. When he retired in 2016, he moved to Osoyoos.
Memories shows his work from his early years in Minsk with later work from Western Europe and North America. The show presents memories of another place in another time.
TAGO will once again be participating in the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, Oct. 3, which also includes participation by The Okanagan Art Gallery, Wayside Books & Art, Century 21 as well as the Osoyoos & District Museum. All events are free. Visitors may drop in between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
