The annual Christmas Artisan Market, featuring more than 25 local artists and artisans, opened Wednesday, November 4 at The Art Gallery Osoyoos (TAGO) and runs until Monday, December 21.
The First Friday Art Walk of November falls on Nov. 6 this year. The Art Walk runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Participating galleries and venues are: TAGO, Artists on Main, The Osoyoos District Museum, Century 21 Pop-Up Art, Wayside Select Books & Art, Best Cellars Bistro & Books, and Backroads Brewing. The Okanagan Art Gallery is closed due to safety concerns following a roof structural incident.
TAGO is located at 8713 Main St. in Osoyoos, B.C., just west of Town Hall.
The Artisan Market features the work of Osoyoos artists and artisans and includes affordable pieces from painters, potters, photographers, quilters and others. It is geared to local shoppers and browsers, and tourists, but the focus is on items that make great holiday gifts.
Throughout the exhibition, some artists may change their exhibit space, so it’s worth checking back again during the next month and a half to see what is new.
This year the gallery is holding a draw to win “The Legacy Bowl,” a chestnut and resin bowl by local artist Dave Brewin. Tickets are $2 and the draw date is Saturday, Dec. 19.
The gallery is on non-summer hours and is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
